# Should Reserve Add NEAR Intents as a Distribution Layer?

I think a big problem is the accessibility for reserve products like DTFs or Rtokens. That’s why I’d like to propose a discussion around integrating **NEAR Intents as an additional distribution layer for Reserve**.
**How NEAR Intents works**
NEAR Intents is designed to abstract away the complexity of cross-chain transactions.
Instead of requiring a user to:
1. Choose the correct network
2. Bridge their assets
3. Find a suitable DEX
4. Swap into the required asset
5. Pay gas on the correct chain
6. Connect to the Reserve application on that chain
the user can simply express **what they want to receive**.
For example, imagine a user holds USDC on Ethereum but wants to buy a Reserve DTF on BNB Chain.
With an intent-based system, the user could essentially say:
**“I want $1,000 of BUILDOUT.”**
The underlying infrastructure can then find the appropriate route across chains and liquidity sources, execute the required swaps and bridging, and deliver the desired asset to the user.
The complexity happens **behind the scenes** , rather than forcing the user to understand the underlying blockchain infrastructure.
**Why this could be interesting for Reserve**
Reserve is increasingly becoming a platform for onchain investment products such as DTFs. As the number of products and supported chains grows, distribution becomes increasingly important.
NEAR Intents could potentially act as a **distribution and execution layer** between users and Reserve products.
Instead of Reserve having to build and maintain every possible cross-chain route itself, an intent layer could connect users from different ecosystems to Reserve products through a unified experience.
This could make Reserve products more accessible to users who don’t already hold assets on the specific chain where a product is deployed.
**A simple example**
A user has:
**USDC on Base**
but wants:
**BUILDOUT on BNB Chain**
The user shouldn’t necessarily need to know that BUILDOUT is on BNB Chain.
The intent layer could handle:
**USDC (Base) → cross-chain routing → required assets → BUILDOUT (BNB Chain)**
The user simply receives the asset they requested.
This could be particularly interesting as Reserve expands its DTF ecosystem and potentially deploys products across additional chains.
**Potential benefits**
- **One-click cross-chain access**
- Less bridging complexity for users
- Less need to hold native gas tokens on multiple chains
- Access to Reserve products from more ecosystems
- Potentially better liquidity aggregation
- A simpler onboarding experience for non-technical users
- More distribution without requiring every user to understand the underlying infrastructure

Very nice idea, people love convenience!
