Reserve Cannot Afford to Miss This Opportunity

First of all, congratulations to the Reserve team on launching PHOTON, BUILDOUT, NEOCLOUD, ROBOTS, and POWER.

I genuinely believe these are the most impressive DTFs Reserve has released so far.

Instead of creating another broad AI index, Reserve broke AI into real investment themes.

That is exactly the direction DTFs should go.

But I also believe something even more important.

Reserve cannot afford to miss this opportunity.

The market is finally ready.

For years, tokenization was just an idea.

Today, it’s becoming reality.

RWAs are growing rapidly.

Stablecoins are becoming part of global finance.

Major institutions are entering crypto.

People are finally starting to understand tokenized investing.

Reserve has spent years building the infrastructure.

Now the market is catching up.

This is exactly the moment Reserve has been waiting for.

The products are ready.

Now people need to discover them.

I don’t think the challenge is product quality.

The new AI DTFs are excellent.

The challenge is awareness.

Outside the Reserve community, very few people know these products exist.

That’s a problem.

The best products don’t always win.

The products that people know about usually do.

Reserve should become impossible to ignore.

This isn’t just about posting more on X.

Reserve needs to be everywhere.

  1. Crypto media.
  2. YouTube.
  3. Podcasts.
  4. Newsletters.
  5. Research platforms.
  6. Investment communities.
  7. Conferences.
  8. Partnership announcements.

Everywhere people learn about investing.

When someone searches for AI investing or tokenized portfolios, Reserve should appear naturally.

Reserve should build the benchmark DTFs.

Reserve should continue creating benchmark products that define entire sectors.

  1. CPI Protection
  2. PPI Sensitive
  3. Inflation Protection
  4. Healthcare.
  5. Defense.
  6. Climate.
  7. Infrastructure.
  8. Inflation.

These become the products people compare everything else against.

But the ecosystem should build the rest.

This is where I think Reserve’s biggest opportunity exists.

Imagine if organizations people already trust could launch official DTFs.

  • Coinbase AI DTF
  • BlackRock Income DTF
  • Ark Invest Innovation DTF
  • Messari Research DTF
  • Bankless DeFi DTF
  • Milk Road AI DTF
  • The Kobeissi Letter Macro DTF
  • Token Metrics AI DTF

Each organization already has an audience.

Each already creates research.

Each already influences investment decisions.

If they could launch official DTFs on Reserve, they wouldn’t just create products.

They would introduce thousands of new users to the Reserve ecosystem.

That’s much more powerful than Reserve trying to market every DTF by itself.

Don’t build every DTF.

Build the platform everyone wants to build on.

Ethereum didn’t become successful because Ethereum built every application.

Shopify didn’t become successful because Shopify opened every store.

YouTube didn’t become successful because YouTube created every video.

They succeeded because they made it easy for everyone else to build.

Reserve can do exactly the same.

Final Thoughts

I believe Reserve has already solved the hardest problem.

Building great DTFs.

Now comes the next challenge.

Winning attention.

Winning awareness.

Winning mindshare.

Because this market is finally ready.

And opportunities like this don’t stay open forever.

Reserve shouldn’t just participate in the tokenization revolution.

Reserve should become the platform that defines it.

Let’s not look back five years from now and say,

“We had the technology. We just didn’t move fast enough.”

Thanks a lot for the powerful ideas. With the recent launch of 5 new DTFs in one of the hottest growth fields of the century so far, I would caution on maintaining focus, but all of these are definitely good ideas!! Just my 2 cents

Ondo has announced the tokenization of more than 200 stocks and ETFs, and BlackRock is moving in the same direction. As tokenization expands, hundreds or even thousands of real-world assets will become available on-chain.

I believe this creates a much bigger opportunity for Reserve than simply launching a handful of DTFs.

The more tokenized assets that exist, the more “ingredients” there are to build indexes. Just as a chef can create more dishes with a wider variety of ingredients, a larger universe of tokenized assets enables an almost unlimited number of DTFs.

Imagine an official Super Doge DTF with Elon Musk, a BNB + Bitcoin DTF with Binance, a Coinbase Blue Chip DTF, a Bitget AI DTF, or many other branded indexes created by exchanges, projects, companies, researchers, and creators.

In my opinion, Reserve’s greatest opportunity is not to build every DTF itself, but to become the platform where anyone can create and launch their own DTF.

If tokenization is the infrastructure, DTFs could become the way people organize, package, and invest in those assets.

Of course, this is only my perspective, and I may be overlooking technical, regulatory, or business challenges. I’d genuinely love to hear @nevin.freeman thought. Do you see Reserve evolving in this direction?

Hello @Inspired — if you had a $10M marketing budget for the proposed additional DTFs, how would you allocate it across each one including the 5 recently launched?

What strategies would you use, and why?

Also, what metrics would show whether each dollar is working (both by DTF and by marketing channel) so we can learn what to scale, adjust, or stop?

Curious your thoughts.

I think we’re thinking too much about explaining every new DTF individually.

What if we instead partnered with people who already have trust and communities?

For example, if Peter Thiel wanted an AI-focused AI Palantir built around companies like Palantir, Reserve could help create it. If Michael Saylor wanted a MicroStrategy + Bitcoin strategy, Reserve could make that possible. If Elon Musk ever wanted something like a Tesla + Dogecoin themed Super Doge, Reserve could provide the infrastructure.

I’m not saying these specific partnerships will happen, but imagine the impact if even one well-known person or organization publicly launched or endorsed a DTF. Many people would first discover the product because they trust the creator, and only then look into the underlying basket.

Even if partnerships with people like Elon are unrealistic, Reserve already has relationships with influential people and organizations. Peter Thiel, CoinDesk, and others connected to the Reserve ecosystem could be good places to experiment first.

If the long-term vision is to let anyone create a DTF, then creator-led and brand-led DTFs could become one of the strongest growth channels.

Appreciate the urgency, @Inspired.

Maybe its less thinking too much, and more just a short memory.

We saw “build it and they will come” play out in the permissionless 2022-2024 RToken era with good, but not sustainable results.

In '25, Reserve added A-list names as permissioned DTF partners:

  • Bloomberg Galaxy, the world’s leading financial terminal and a major crypto investor, for BGCI
  • Kraken, the second-largest U.S. exchange, for LCAP
  • CoinMarketCap (Binance), the leading retail crypto-discovery surface, for CMC20
  • CoinDesk, crypto’s veteran publication, for DFX

Those DTFs are live at Discover DTFs | Reserve.

The new thematic DTFs like PHOTON, NEOCLOUD, et. al. package the AI and infrastructure buildout into investable themes, giving rest of world easy-access to familiar Nasdaq and NYSE-listed companies. Easily the biggest investment movement in our lifetimes.

Famous names catch a second look. But they do not build a growth engine.

Probably a good time to pivot from “which big name next?” to “which growth loops turn each partnership and DTF into adoption?”

What are all the mechanisms and how do they work together?

Furthermore, which metrics show what works by DTF and channel? What gets scaled, adjusted, or stopped?

Current DTF products looks promising, though distribution and marketing details and RSR community’s role remain unclear.

For RSR enthusiasts, ask: what’s in play (or missing) for this community to help the ‘current priority’ products win? Squeaky wheel gets the oil.

While I’d love to see this activated in public with RSR holders playing an integral part of the growth loop, I also respect theres a path of “fewer cooks in the kitchen, do it and then talk about later.” :crossed_fingers:

I agree with many of 0xJMG’s points. Growth loops, distribution, marketing, and measuring what works are all essential for long-term success.

However, I don’t think this is an either-or decision.

Reserve should continue improving the growth of existing DTFs while also launching more thematic DTFs.

The reason is simple:

No one can predict with certainty which DTF will become the next breakout success.

Before CMC20 launched, no one knew it would become one of Reserve’s flagship products. If we had waited until every question was answered and every analysis was complete, we might never have discovered its potential.

Markets are unpredictable. Some themes that seem obvious fail to gain traction, while others unexpectedly become major successes.

Silicon Valley has embraced this reality for decades. Venture capital firms don’t know in advance which startup will become the next OpenAI, Nvidia, Airbnb, or Stripe. Instead, they invest across many promising ideas, knowing that while many will achieve only modest success—or even fail—a few exceptional winners can generate enormous value.

I believe DTFs should be approached in a similar way.

Launch high-quality DTFs across a wide range of promising themes—AI, robotics, quantum computing, cybersecurity, energy, tokenization, biotech, and more. Then let the market decide. Measure TVL, trading volume, user growth, retention, and community engagement, and double down on the products that demonstrate real demand.

The cost of launching another well-designed DTF is relatively small compared to the potential value of discovering the next CMC20.

Growth loops don’t only happen after a winner is found—they often begin because a product exists in the first place. If we never launch new ideas, we’ll never know which ones the market truly wants.

My view is simple:

Launch more. Measure everything. Double down on the winners.

Reserve doesn’t have to choose between analysis and experimentation. The strongest strategy is to do both at the same time.
